Discover Dallas-Fort Worth

Affordable homes

Dallas-Fort Worth is one of the hottest housing markets in the nation, and one visit to the area is all it takes to see why. Here, you'll find a diverse mix of new construction and existing single-family homes in a variety of communities, including master-planned neighborhoods packed with resort-style amenities. However, Dallas and Fort Worth also feature high-rise condos, urban townhomes, and even some historic properties. The average home in the DFW sells for a little over $400,000 and only stays on the market for around 21 days.

Things to Do

Want to experience the Dallas area like a local? Get to know our city's culture at famous institutions like the Perot Museum of Natural Science and the Sixth Floor Museum, or make the most of the gorgeous weather by touring the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. The Dallas Arts District is home to a number of galleries and kitschy destinations, while Kylde Warren Park provides plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with nature. If you love animals, the Dallas Zoo and Aquarium should be at the top of your list. And for all our thrill-seekers, be sure to visit Reunion Tower or Six Flags Over Texas.

Local schools

Depending on where you live in the Dallas, you could be zoned to a number of different school districts, commonly known as ISDs. For those living in Dallas proper, you'll likely be served by the Dallas Independent School District, which is the 12th largest public district in the nation. However, each community has its own local option, and there's a rough total of around 112 different districts in the metroplex. For more in-depth information on schools in each suburb, take a look at our area guides!

Job opportunities

Dallas' diverse economy has fostered thousands of new jobs over the last decade—in fact, 22 Fortune 500 companies call the area home. Defense, financial services, information technology, telecommunications, and transportation are some of the DFW's largest industries. And to top it all off, students can prepare for the workplace at the University of Texas, Texas A&M, and Southern Methodist University.
